Debisys announces ¡Primero Uno! product bundle targeted to the Hispanic market

FOOTHILL RANCH, California –(BUSINESS WIRE)—September 22, 2004– Debisys, Inc., a leading provider of prepaid solutions, announced today the introduction of ¡Primero Uno!; an exciting bundle of new products targeting the Hispanic market.

The bundle is available as part of the expanding set of Debisys products and brings increased value to existing distributors and merchants. The bundle includes:

  • Telcel Direct Top Up; Sell Telcel minutes at any Debisys location with Direct Top Up – no pins, no cards. Subscribers can top up their Telcel account in real time.
  • Dinero Rapido; Money Transfer to over 8,000 locations
  • Todito Prepaid Internet
  • Uso Diario ; Prepaid Debit and Mastercard
  • Telmex Calling Cards; Pin or Card based Telmex LD

Dennis Andrews, Debisys’ CEO “Primero Uno” is the first of a line of bundled sets of products we will release going forward. Based upon our customer analysis and the demographics of our ISO and merchant base, the Hispanic theme made sense.

The centerpiece for this Hispanic group of products is Telcel Direct Top Up which will generate significant consumer traffic, as no one else is offering this today. We believe that the ability for a consumer to “top-up” their own or a loved one’s Telcel account will be in tremendous demand. Telcel is also one of the most recognized and trusted names to the Hispanic community.

Certainly Money Transfer is a key product for this market and our partnership with RapidMoney brings this capability to the Debisys network.. But we cannot forget that Hispanics in this country are online at rates exceeding the national average and offerings from Mexico are beginning to touch Hispanic’s in a major way by using their powerful brand recognition and Spanish programming publicity on radio and television. Both the Todito Prepaid Internet and the Debisys Cash Internet Deposit address this opportunity.

Many of these programs have marketing/promotion methods that will propagate the merchant locations that sign up for this bundle. Debisys is making it straightforward to accept the bundle and beginning driving extra revenue through your locations.

The bundle is being announced at the Intele-card expo in Las Vegas and will be available for sale in October 2004. Debisys also plans to announce additional bundles of products on a regular basis.

Debisys introduces ITC Financial Services Prepaid Debit and MasterCard products

FOOTHILL RANCH, CA – July 30, 2004 – Debisys, Inc., a leading provider of prepaid solutions, announced today the introduction of the ITC Financial Services Prepaid Debit and MasterCard products to its network.

ITCFS launched its proprietary stored value products in February of 2004. Its flagship stored value card will be marketed under the brand “SnapPay” and will be sold both over the counter at retail outlets and through a direct sales force as a payroll product. Customers of the product are those who cannot or choose not to use the traditional banking system, but want the convenience and security of using a financial card to purchase goods and services. “Between 20% and 30% of Americans are not well served by the traditional banking system,” said Bill Scott. “They want the safety, convenience and security of using a bank-type card to process their financial transactions. The SnapPay product has been designed to provide a broad range of services on one card, including the ability to make long distance calls, pay for various prepaid services such as internet and wireless, and facilitate certain types of money transfers from card to card.”

Phil Prouty, Founder and COO commented “We’re excited to have ITCFS products on our network. The demand for prepaid debit and MasterCard products is significant. Approximately 50 million adults in the U.S. do not possess credit cards. Almost 10 million households do not boast bank accounts. Without access to these financial facilities, millions of people have missed out on the benefits of the ‘transaction revolution.’ Now, stored value cards, aka prepaid debit cards, will enable the disenfranchised to share the rewards of E-commerce.”

Debisys software certified on Verifone Omni 3300 and 3750 series terminals

FOOTHILL RANCH, CA – June 30, 2004 – Debisys, Inc., a leading provider of prepaid solutions, announced today its application is certified on the Verifone Omni 3300 and 3700 series terminals.

Members of the Debisys POSA network are now able to use the Verifone Omni 3300 and 3740/50 terminals for sales and activation of all the company’s’ products. The terminals offers a user friendly ATM style interface, large display, printing capabilities and an integrated PIN pad in a compact ‘hand over’ design.

Dennis Andrews, CEO commented “Expanding the number of terminals we support is a strategic initiative for us. The more options available, the lower the barrier to entry. Some of our competitors require a bulky proprietary terminal which is often a major objection from merchants. In our experience, another terminal on the countertop is not the answer. Our ability to co-reside on existing or upgraded terminals makes deployment very easy.”

Miami, June 10, 2004 – EMIDA, a provider of transactional networks for electronic prepaid distribution, store value and money transfer targeting the Global Hispanic market and PREflex de Ecuador, announced the launching of the PUNTOflex Network in Ecuador, after signing a strategic agreement early this year.

David Brillembourg, CEO of EMIDA commented, “We are very pleased with the launching of PUNTOflex in Ecuador in such a short timeframe. Ecuador is a large prepaid and money transfer market that exceeded US$1.6 billion in 2003, which represented 10% of the country GDP in remittances only.”

Francisco Perez, Vice President of PREflex del Ecuador commented, “We already initiated negotiations with major retailers and convenience stores which are very interested in offering prepaid services and other electronic transactions at their points of sales”.

Initially, PUNTOflex will integrate points of sale (POS) at major retailers, banks and money transfer companies and will enable other service providers to offer their prepaid services, store value cards and money transfer services in a more cost-efficient way.

EMIDA’s multi-product platform and PUNTOflex Network offers important opportunities for retailers, banks, telcos and money transfer companies looking to capture funds from remittances, store value and prepaid services to expand their core businesses.
