Emida Announces Support for Wallie-card

FOOTHILL RANCH, California, December 10, 2009 (Business Wire) − Emida Technologies, a leading provider of electronic prepaid solutions has announced the addition of Wallie-card, a pre-paid payment solution for the online gaming market. Wallie-card will be available on all Emida-supported terminals from December 14, 2009, in time for holiday shopping.

Wallie, founded in the Netherlands in 2003, supports millions of transactions for 1,600 merchants based in 76 countries. Consumers purchase cards of various denominations at gas stations, newspaper kiosks, electronics stores and grocery stores and then redeem the value online to purchase online gaming, downloads and online community services. Wallie-card transactions are easy, safe and anonymous.  Importantly, Wallie’s strategy is to be a safe online payment option for youngsters – Wallie-card cannot be used for online ‘adult entertainment’ or gambling.

Wallie-cards will be available as an e-voucher on the Emida system in fixed denominations.  They will complement Emida’s growing portfolio of services for the online market which Emida expects to extend further in early 2010.

Wim Jagtenberg, Founder of Wallie said, “Wallie is happy to partner with Emida.  The U.S. is an important market for us and we are delighted to be working with a leading provider like Emida.”

“Wallie is an internationally recognized and trusted online payment mechanism and is a great fit with Emida’s U.S. strategy as well as our increasing international footprint.“ says Traci Benincosa, Director of U.S Sales Operations. “We are delighted to make Wallie-card available just before Christmas and are confident it will become a major seller in the U.S.”
